Glenn Fee came to Bluff Lake after serving as the Director of the Community Action Program at the University of Denver for seven years. An avid traveler, he has spent extensive time in India, Nepal, and southeast Asia. Glenn received his BA in English from The Ohio State University and studied in the Graduate School of International Studies at the University of Denver. Glenn was a founding member of Rock the Earth, an environmental advocacy group, and currently serves on the board of The Park People and Thangde Gatsal, a Tibetan arts organization. In his spare time, Glenn enjoys cycling, traveling, listening to live music, and exploring the world through the eyes of his infant son, Cedar.
Susan
Beckett moved to Colorado in 2000
to study Wildlife Biology at Colorado State University.
She is currently studying at CU Denver to get her
Masters of Public Administration. She has a strong
passion for conserving our natural resources and enjoys
sharing this passion with the many students that visit
Bluff Lake, especially those that are English Language
Learners. She is fluent in Spanish, a skill that she
learned as an exchange student in Argentina and one
that is useful when teaching the underserved youth
of Denver and Aurora. In her free time she enjoys
swimming, snowboarding, hiking and playing with her
dogs.
Mendy
Evans is the beloved one you talk
with if you have questions about our fundraising efforts.
She has worked with nonprofit organizations for years,
having been previously involved with Judi’s
House and Rape Assistance and Awareness Program. Before
entering the nonprofit world, Mendy was a public health
researcher with the Colorado Department of Public
Health and Environment. Coming to work at Bluff Lake
has been a great return to Mendy’s early environmental
activist roots, having received a BS in Environmental Health
from Colorado State University. When not encouraging
people to support Bluff Lake, Mendy likes travelling,
riding her motorcycle, photography, and creative writing.
A native Coloradoan and Bluff Lake employee
since the Autumn of 2003, Kristin
Libberton is committed to exposing
urban children to nature and wildlife education. She
takes this commitment beyond Bluff Lake by leading
teacher workshops for educators as a volunteer Project
Facilitator. Kristin earned her Masters in Environmental
Policy and Management at the University of Denver
in 2001. In 2002, she completed her Certified Interpretive
Guide training from the National Association of Interpretation,
and presented at the NAI National Conference in November,
2007. Kristin takes her love of teaching home and
spends lots of time outdoors with her two children
and the family dogs.
Antonio
Luis Muñiz Martínez
is a native of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and
spent four years in the land of the 10,000 lakes,
where he earned a BS in Psychology and a minor in
Biology (Minnesota State University-Mankato 2000).
In Minnesota, he met a lifelong companion, who lured
him to the Centennial State in 2002. Antonio has been
influenced by many people, but the most influential
of all – in matters related to thought, politics
and the outdoors – has been his maternal grandma. Some
of the activities he most enjoys are visiting his tropical
birthplace to spend time on the beach, spending unstructured
time outdoors, reading Gonzo journalism, and listening
to live music.
Christin Ripley is a native Vermonter who has spent the last few years in the Southern Appalachians where she earned a degree in Environmental Science with a minor in Geography from Appalachian State University. She is currently serving as an Americorps *VISTA whose goal is to increase the capacity of programming at BLNC. She hopes to increase community involvement in the city of Aurora and encourage people to be life long stewards of their environment. Outside of Bluff Lake, Christin enjoys traveling to new places, eating good food, doing anything outside including, exploring the mountains, rock climbing, biking around Denver, and working in her community garden plot.
Chris
Story can be found mucking around
the Bluff Lake site during all seasons and weather.
Chris is a Denver native whose love for Colorado was
cemented with the time he spent at his family’s
cabin near Bailey. Chris received a Bachelor’s
degree in Geography from the University of Colorado
and a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies
at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington.
Since returning to Denver in 2000 and prior to joining
Bluff Lake in August 2007, Chris worked at the Denver
Botanic Gardens, specializing in native plants of
Colorado. Chris enjoys hiking, camping, and the arts. |
