Earth Day 2011

Earth Day is officially April 22nd and on a Friday this year. Bluff Lake has several things happening to celebrate our planet and its precious resources.

 

>>April 16th: Bluff Lake volunteer clean-up project
9:00am to Noon -- Kick-off Earth Day celebrations as spring cleaning takes a trip outdoors! Great for families and groups. To volunteer, please contact us by email at volunteer@blufflake.org to register and get more details.

 

>>April 19th: Bluff Lake benefit night at Noodles & Company in Stapleton
4:00pm to 9:00pm -- You need dinner anyway, so join us at Noodles in Stapleton and they will donate a percentage of the proceeds to Bluff Lake.

>>April 23rd: Earth Day Recycling Event
9:00am to Noon -- The Main Event! Bring the items that are cluttering up your house to Bluff Lake - including electronics, books, and bicycles - and our partners will recycle them for you.
**R2 Stewardship will recycle your electronics (small fees charged for some items, see pricing below)
**The Bike Depot will take your bikes and put them to good use.
**B-Logistics and Books West will reuse or recycle your extra books.
**The Greater Stapleton Business Association will help residents protect their identities. A shredding machine from Cintas will be on hand to shred your boxes of personal documents.

Fees for the following electronics:
•CRT Computer Monitor - $5
•CRT-Tube TV's under 24" - $10
•CRT-Tube TV's - $20
•Large Appliances - $10
•R2 Stewardship accepts cash or checks (written to R2 Stewardship)

 

>>April 30th: Spring Restoration Project
8:30am to 1:00pm -- Join Bluff Lake and Comcast employee as we plant native trees throughout Bluff Lake and adjacent open spaces, helping Denver reach the Mile High Million goal. The Comcast crew is big, but we'll need a lot more volunteer help. To volunteer, please contact us by email at volunteer@blufflake.org to register and get more details.
